A Notary Public is a qualified, commissioned officer of the state they live in, Whose signature is accepted by the courts as being from a credible, disinterested person whose official act is deemed truth unless disproved.
The secretary of State Office delegates the duties to Notary Publics: Examples: A Notary Public has the same authority as the county clerk to take acknowledgments or proofs of written instruments, protests instruments permitted by law to be protested, administer oaths, take disposition, and certify copies of documents not recordable in the public records. A Notary Public shall sign the name under which he or she is commissioned on all such written instruments.
A certified Signing Agent, is not an ATTORNEY ! But a notary public Who has taken the next step to educate themselves in the area (s) they specialize in.
A certified Signing Agent, is a notary public who has taken an educational class or classes to learn and receive additional information in LOAN DOCUMENTS.(not in assocation with the SOS) To learn how to handle loan documents, Including screening signers, mastering procedures for all notarizations, understanding the documents and the laws that a notary public must follow. A certified signing agent is also known as a notary signing agent that has sucessfully completed a cerification class and has had the notary public application accepted by the secretary of state. A CSA or NSA is hired as an independent contractor, having a specialized impartial witness visit ones home or business to over see, expedite and complete the loan signing process.
A Notary Public or a Certified signing agent is not the closing agent....
